Who am I
A career built
on purpose
Motorsport runs in the family — father and grandfather both competed in Finnish national rally. Sankka started karting at four, raced nationally in Finland and Estonia, went international in 2022, and by 2023 was a factory driver for world champion VDK Racing in the highest international karting class, OKJ Class 1.
In 2026 he takes the next step: the Iberian Supercars GT4 Championship in a McLaren Artura GT4, representing McLaren Barcelona – SMC Motorsport, a team with deep McLaren ties and a proven GT3 record. The plan is not complicated: build racecraft and consistency in GT4, then move to GT3 at the highest level.
- Telemetry-validated pace. Exceptionally precise on the throttle, rare lap-time consistency versus peers.
- Engineer's mindset. Studies telemetry, walks every track, prepares like a professional.
- Five languages, one message. Represents a brand authentically from the Nordics to Iberia — no translation needed.
- Built to last. High performer at school, now on the economics programme at a Swedish boarding school. Trains, plays golf, sleeps, recovers.

The path
Twelve years,
one direction
Every step has been planned, costed and earned — from a father-and-son hobby at a Finnish kart track to a McLaren GT4 seat in Spain and Portugal.
First laps, age 4
A family hobby at Bemböle Ring, Espoo. Driving lines taught properly from day one — the habit that still shows in the telemetry.
National level, Finland & Estonia
Into the top five, then the top three in Finland. Espoo Motorsport Club Karting Driver of the Year. Racing weekends across the Baltics.
International debut — and a comeback
First international season in Italy. Six months out with a broken leg and arm; returned straight into the OK-Junior World Championship at Sarno and qualified on the second row of his group, finishing inside the top six. The moment the talent stopped being a theory.
Factory driver, VDK Racing
Signed at 13 by world champion team VDK Racing for OKJ Class 1 — the highest international karting class. FIA Karting European Championship and CIK-FIA World Championship starts.
Into the big cars
GT4 testing, physical programme stepped up, and management signed: 358 Sports Management. Boarding school place in Sweden secured — economics programme, ten minutes from Arlanda.
McLaren Artura GT4 · Iberian Supercars
Three championship rounds, six races, plus private testing — Valencia, Jerez and Estoril with McLaren Barcelona – SMC Motorsport in the Gulf Oil livery.
GT3, and the long game
The target is GT3 at the highest level — endurance racing at Le Mans and Spa, and a professional career measured in decades, not seasons.

Light blue, orange,
and sixty years of history
The Gulf Oil livery is one of the few colour schemes in the world that people recognise before they read a single logo. Le Mans, Steve McQueen, Ford GT40, McLaren. Brands that appear on it inherit that association — and in 2026 there is still space on the car.

The team
McLaren Barcelona
SMC Motorsport
Not a step into the unknown. Sankka's first GT4 season runs with the official McLaren Barcelona team — a family-run operation with more than 15 years of experience, a Dakar programme, and the reigning McLaren Trophy Europe titles.
Directed by Gonzalo de Andrés with Emilio de Villota as Team Principal — over 20 years in the professional elite of international motorsport. For a young driver, that means real engineering, real data, and a paddock where sponsors are treated professionally.

Reach & audience
A platform,
not just a car
Two audiences come with the seat: the championship's pan-European broadcast footprint, and a young driver's own channels — where the content is made, not repurposed.
